A Busy and Brilliant Week for Our Girls in Football!

6th Jun 2025
What a week it has been for our girls’ football teams – full of determination, teamwork, and exceptional performances!

Tuesday:
Our girls kicked off the week by competing in the Cumann na mBunscoil competition. After a fantastic semi-final victory against Christ the King, they faced St. Mary’s Ballygawley in a thrilling and hard-fought final. Both teams showed immense heart and determination. Despite their heroic effort, our girls narrowly missed out on the title, with St. Mary’s Ballygawley taking home the 2025 Cumann na mBunscoil crown. Congratulations to them!
We are incredibly proud of our girls – they showed real class on and off the pitch and can hold their heads high!

Thursday:
The girls travelled to Galbally for another exciting tournament. After topping their group with strong performances, they advanced to the cup semi-final. Battling against a tough St. Mary’s Cabragh side and challenging weather conditions, they gave it everything but narrowly missed out on a spot in the final. Another proud showing!

Friday:
Our P6 girls took part in the St. Patrick’s Rock football tournament. Facing stiff competition from Laghey, Irvinestown, and Rock in the group stages, they rose to the challenge and topped their section. In the semi-final, they took on Galbally in a tense match and emerged victorious, setting up a final showdown with Irvinestown – a team they had already faced earlier in the tournament. Irvinestown started strong, eager for revenge, but our Loughmacrory girls showed grit, focus, and exceptional teamwork. Their fantastic performance saw them lift the Eileen McCreesh Cup – bringing it back to St. Teresa’s for the third year in a row! 🏆

Well done, girls! What a phenomenal week of football and what brilliant ambassadors you are for our school. We couldn’t be prouder!
