Our P7 boys and girls enjoyed a fantastic day at the inaugural St Colmcille’s Indoor Tournament, played in the spectacular indoor pitch, Halla Mór at Páirc Colmcille. Everyone in attendance was treated to a wonderful display of football, skill and sportsmanship throughout the day.
The morning session saw our girls compete brilliantly against strong opposition from Carrickmore, Glencull and Pomeroy. They worked tirelessly throughout each game, battled for every ball and displayed tremendous teamwork and determination. Most importantly, they thoroughly enjoyed the excitement of this superb event and represented our school with great pride.
In the afternoon, it was the turn of our boys to take to the pitch in what proved to be a highly competitive and entertaining series of matches. Following terrific encounters with Carrickmore and Donaghmore, our boys progressed to a thrilling final against Glencull. After a titanic battle between two excellent teams, our boys emerged victorious to claim the honours. Their performances across the day were outstanding and we are absolutely delighted for them.
A huge thank you to Mr Cush, Mr Treanor and all the staff at St Colmcille’s Primary School for hosting such a fantastic event. The organisation and hospitality throughout the day were first class.
A brilliant day had by all and one we look forward to again in the years ahead.
