As part of our World Book Day celebrations, pupils across the school took part in a range of special reading activities — and it was wonderful to see everyone enjoying stories together.
🤝 Buddy Reading
Our older pupils helped make the day extra special by sharing stories with younger classes:
- Primary 7 read with Primary 1, and it was lovely to see how confidently our P7s read and how engaged and excited our youngest pupils were listening to them.
- Primary 6 read with Primary 2, creating another set of warm, calm and joyful reading moments around the school.
The atmosphere was relaxed, positive and full of smiles, with pupils from both ends of the school forming brilliant reading partnerships.
📖 D.E.A.R — Drop Everything And Read
Pupils in Primary 3, Primary 4, and Primary 5 took part in D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read).
Classrooms fell quiet as everyone stopped what they were doing, picked up a book, and enjoyed dedicated time to read for pleasure. It was a simple but powerful reminder of how enjoyable and calming reading can be.
