Hands-On Numeracy Through Outdoor Learning
24th Apr 2026
The children took part in an engaging numeracy carousel with a range of hands-on activities. One station focused on investigating containers that held less than, more than or about half a litre, helping pupils develop their understanding of capacity.
At another station, children estimated and then measured the surface area of different objects found outdoors using clear square grids. The final station involved working in pairs to identify and show lines of symmetry in their environment.
A fantastic range of practical activities that encouraged discussion, teamwork and real-life numeracy skills.
