Making Time Come to Life in P3
The P3 children have been learning how to tell the time, focusing on quarter past and quarter to on analogue clocks. To make their learning fun and hands-on, they took part in an active outdoor lesson.
Using hula hoops as clock faces, the children carefully placed the numbers in the correct positions. They then used sticks as the hands of the clock to show different times, working together to create and read each example. This practical approach helped the children develop a clear understanding of how the hands move on an analogue clock.
The activity encouraged teamwork, discussion and problem-solving, while also bringing an important numeracy topic to life. A great example of active learning supporting understanding and confidence in telling the time.
