Outstanding Success at the 2026 All-Ireland Cumann na mBunscol Handball Finals

19th Mar 2026

A huge congratulations to our three talented primary pupils who proudly represented St Teresa’s PS and Loughmacrory Handball Club at the 2026 All-Ireland Cumann na mBunscol Finals in Croke Park today.

Aodhan, Cianna and Aoibhinn travelled to Dublin as Ulster champions, delivering excellent performances in their matches against the provincial champions of Leinster, Munster and Connacht. Most importantly, they enjoyed a memorable and rewarding experience at the National Handball Centre.

In the Boys U13 Singles, Aodhan showed his skill and determination in impressive games against opponents from Kilkenny, Clare and Galway.
Meanwhile, in the Girls U13 Doubles, Aoibhinn and Ciana produced three exciting and highly competitive encounters with teams from Kilkenny, Clare and Mayo.

The experience gained at this prestigious event will undoubtedly support their continued development as young handballers. A special highlight of the day was meeting the newly crowned and hugely popular All-Ireland Ladies Senior Handball Champion, Fiona Tully of Roscommon.

Our pupils were supported by their families, Mr McCullagh and Mr Gallagher, and we extend our sincere thanks to the dedicated staff of St Teresa’s for their continued encouragement of handball and Gaelic culture within our community.

Just two weeks ago, the school proudly received a national Cumann na mBunscol award for the Promotion of Gaelic Games and Culture—a fitting recognition of the tremendous work being done to foster handball, football and Irish music in our area.

Congratulations once again to Aodhan, Cianna and Aoibhinn on your fantastic achievements this year, and to St Teresa’s PS for providing such enriching opportunities for our young sports stars.
