P3 Minibeast Adventures Around Our School

27th Apr 2026

As part of their Minibeasts topic, the P3 children enjoyed an exciting minibeast hunt around the school grounds. Armed with containers and plenty of curiosity, they explored areas such as grass, soil and plants, searching for a variety of tiny creatures and observing where they lived.

The children gathered interesting facts about the minibeasts they found, learning about their habitats, features and how they survive. These facts were later used to support their creative writing, helping pupils add detail, imagination and accuracy to their work.

To extend their learning even further, the children worked together to create a bug hotel using natural materials. This provided a safe and welcoming habitat for minibeasts and reinforced the importance of caring for living things and protecting our environment.

A fantastic topic that combined outdoor learning, science, teamwork and creative writing – P3 showed great enthusiasm throughout!
