A Special Day of Reflection and Preparation
Our P7 pupils recently made the short journey across to Carrickmore to join with the P7 children from St. Colmcille’s PS for a very special Confirmation Retreat in the Patrician Hall.
The retreat was beautifully organised by our parish priest, Fr McAnenly, and brought together 85 confirmandi, along with their teachers and staff from both schools. It was a wonderful opportunity to pause, reflect, and prepare our hearts and minds for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
We were privileged to welcome Mrs Mary Hampsey, our diocesan adviser, as our guest speaker. She shared powerful insights through fun, engaging, and interactive sessions that truly captured the children’s attention. The retreat was filled with energy, thoughtfulness, and a deep sense of spiritual connection - helping the children reflect on the meaning of Confirmation and the presence of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
The day concluded with a beautiful outdoor Mass at the High Cross, just beside St. Colmcille’s Church. Fr McAnenly led us in a peaceful and prayerful celebration that brought the retreat to a perfect close.

We now look forward with great joy to receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday 7th June.
